about

'On A Cold December...' is the first original Christmas tune from Richard, originally tiled 'Egg Nog'd', combining his ability to paint pictures with words, and social comment/satire based on his perceptions of modern Christmas.

Richard's twist on the classic Egg Nog - try a WARM one:

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups coffee ice cream
1 1/2 cups eggnog
1 cup hot strongly brewed coffee
4 tablespoons frozen whipped topping, thawed
4 pinches ground nutmeg
Carolans Irish Cream
Rum: your fave, to taste, until proper joy achieved

Directions
1. Scoop the ice cream into a pan over low heat. Stir in the eggnog and coffee; and heat until warm, about 3 minutes. Pour into four glass or ceramic mugs adding 1 oz. shot of Irish Cream - and don't forget to add the Rum to keep out the cold! Top each with 1 tablespoon whipped topping and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve immediately.

lyrics

Snow starts falling,
Friends start calling
Hats and Coats try to keep out the cold

People shopping
'Till they're dropping
Trees and stores lined with silver and gold

Wrapping paper, by the roll
Rolling out like sacred scrolls
And pretty Ribbons, tie loose ends
make sure I've spent as much as my friends!

Traffic backs up
Behind the mail truck
He's got a stop at every house on the street

Snowy Days
Frosty Nights
Kids want to know what grown up Egg Nog tastes like

And trees once lost to the dark of night
Blaze like Angels wrapped in heavens light...

...And if I try I can still remember
A lowly stable on a cold December

(Strings)

People shopping
'Till they're dropping
Coats and Hats try to keep out the cold

...And if I try I can still remember
A lowly stable on a cold December

...And if I try I can still remember
A lowly stable on a cold December

about

Richard Cummins Agassiz, British Columbia

Richard Cummins first sang with his Mother on a home made tape when he was roughly 3 years old, in tune. She, having grown up on 50's rockabilly and country icons like Loretta Lynn, taught Richard the guitar at an early age. But it was upon his discovery of the Beatles that made Richard obsess over music, learning guitar, bass, piano & drums and writing boxes full of songs. ... more
