Coming off the back of my triumphant 'Rock Album Of The Year' nominated album "Not all Who Are Lost Wander", this EP sidesteps the exuberance and hides its message in melancholy, reflection, and seeing yourself in the 'everyman'. Sometimes it is a relief to take the cape off and let someone else be the hero for a moment or two...

about

You wake up early in the morning
You say you're waiting for something
You felt, when you were only small...

It was so real you could taste it
That feeling, deep inside your soul
You felt, on Friday afternoons...

When you were only small

about

Richard Cummins Mission, British Columbia

Richard Cummins first sang with his Mother on a home made tape when he was roughly 3 years old, in tune. She, having grown up on 50's rockabilly and country icons like Loretta Lynn, taught Richard the guitar at an early age. But it was upon his discovery of the Beatles that made Richard obsess over music, learning guitar, bass, piano & drums and writing boxes full of songs. ... more

You wake up early in the morning
You say you're waiting for something
You felt, when you were only small...

When you were only small
La la la la
When you were only small
La la la la
When you were only small

It was so real you could taste it
That feeling, deep inside your soul
You felt, on Friday afternoons...

On Friday afternoons
La la la la
On Friday afternoons
La la la la
On Friday afternoons

(bridge)
Walking with you is like walking through a forest
A clearing comes, and then things become so bright
Sometimes it feels like I'm walking through a shadow
A shadow...
There can be no shadows without light
La la la la
No shadows without light
La la la la
A shadow without light

You wake up early in the morning
You say you're waiting for something
You felt, when you were only small...

When you were only small
La la la la
When you were only small

Track Name: I'm A Notary
"I see them on the sidewalk, looking through the glass - then they walk right past.

Should somebody come in - I'd gladly sit them down and I'd fill them in."

'I have been instated by a regulating body: I went to school when everybody (else) went and partied...

... so I could handle their affairs - everybody has so many cares.'

"So I'm A Notary!
Appointed by official Govt Authority; Distinct from Judiciary - Domestic deeds, affairs and Power of Attorney.

She opens up the door with a single piece of paper but I hope for more
Embosser in my hand, affirming and confirming, I apply the stamp

'Cause I'm A Notary!
Appointed by official Govt Authority; Distinct from Judiciary - Domestic deeds, affairs and Power of Attorney.

Ahhhhh.... So I could handle their affairs...

Yes, I'm A Notary!
A symbol of a Systematic Nobility - a Circular Depiction - enforcing Common Law in a Foreign Jurisdiction.
Based in Civility, Administrating Oaths with a sense of Propriety.

Yes I'm A Notary!
Appointed by official Govt Authority

Track Name: Spent My Life Trying
I traded Religion for Business and Money for Faith
And I stayed on the sidelines where I knew I was safe
Well, my money seems funny, and business ain't great
I'm giving up on my business, and living by Faith

60 seconds is a minute, 60 minutes is an hour
7 days in a week, and time is money, and money's power
30 days in a month, 12 months in a year
I better start living, before I'm out of here

I spent my life trying, trying so hard
But I feel like a dog chasing sticks in the yard
I've waited on people time and again
But just because they're people, don't mean they're your friends
Your friends...?
Yode-alay-dee-hooo

I've read all the books they told me to read
And I've followed the leader and practiced good deeds
But now leaders seem meaner than they ought to be
I'm giving up on my leaders and start living free

I was born a bastard, my parents weren't Wed
And I only found out after both of them were dead
Now a Son needs a Father, a Father a Wife
Let's get on with living the rest of my life

I spent my life trying, trying so hard
But I feel like a dog chasing sticks in the yard
I've waited on people time and again
But just because they're people, don't mean they're your friends
Your friends...?

Track Name: No Milk Today
No Milk Today Official Lyrics:

"No Milk Today"

No milk today, my love has gone away
The bottle stands forlorn, a symbol of the dawn
No milk today, it seems a common sight
But people passing by don't know the reason why

How could they know just what this message means?
The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams
How could they know the palace there had been
Behind the door where my love reigned as queen

No milk today, it wasn't always so
The company was gay, we'd turn night into day

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
Becomes a shrine when I think of you only
Just two up two down

No milk today, it wasn't always so
The company was gay, we'd turn night into day
As music played the faster did we dance
We felt it both at once, the start of our romance

How could they know just what this message means?
The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams
How could they know a palace there had been
Behind the door where my love reigned as queen

No milk today, my love has gone away
The bottle stands forlorn, a symbol of the dawn

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
Becomes a shrine when I think of you only
Just two up two down

No milk today, my love has gone away
The bottle stands forlorn, a symbol of the dawn
No milk today, it seems a common sight
But people passing by don't know the reason why

How could they know just what this message means?
The end of my hopes, the end of all my dreams
How could they know a palace there had been
Behind the door where my love reigned as queen

No milk today, it wasn't always so
The company was gay, we'd turn night into day

But all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
Oh, all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
Oh, all that's left is a place dark and lonely
A terraced house in a mean street back of town
